Departing from Winton as the sun comes up.
These brown hawks were everywhere munching on roadkill, the fence gives you some idea of their size. Every now and then there were wedge tailed eagles as well, which made these hawks look like midgets!
The QANTAS museum in Longreach possesses one of the original QANTAS 747's on display, quite large when you get up close....
An original airport shuttle bus....
Another roadside emu...
Barcaldine where the ALP was born, sort of...
One of the hazards of the country....... an emu wandering the streets...
A hawk
Along the road one thing you must be careful of is cows hiding behind road marker posts waiting to jump out in front of your car....
At one point I spotted these beetles all over the road, so I stopped and took pictures....
Another Australian road hazard... sheep leading cows onto the road........
In my entire lifetime I have yet to observe a steam train at a level crossing.... Bout time the Government updated their signs!!!
